Rather than trying to re-invent the wheel, we aim to link people with resources to people who are already on the ground doing the job.
Resources are not just financial in nature. We take the skills and resources that you have and aim to link you with strategic opportunities.
These strategic opportunities arise out of tried and tested relationships with people on the ground that are already doing the job and would carry on doing the job even if we did not help them. Our partners on the ground have a track record of commitment and perseverance, as well as accountability. In pursuing these strategic relationships, we evaluate every opportunity in the light of our values, as well as its long term sustainability. Sustainability is measured in the tangibles - structures, finances, resources; and intangibles - character, commitment, conviction.
A willingness to participate brings many resources to the table. For our partners on the ground, just the awareness that there are others that stand alongside them in their endeavors is a huge boost. When we are able to bring more to the table without fear of abuse or misuse, the impact can be astounding!
The key thought for us in building strategic partnerships is developing a culture of participation. We participate by sending resources, by applying wisdom and by encouraging dialog at every level. This needs to be received by our partners o the ground in the spirit that it is given - with humility and a heart that desires the best for the people we are caring for.
This has a dual outworking:
1. Resource Partners - those partners that will commit to working with us to raise resources and finances to be applied towards our goals. This has multiple facets including business, education, medical and justice.
2. Resourced Partners - those partners on the ground working towards generational change with the disenfranchised, aids orphanages, community schools and single moms back to school.
It is our desire and commitment that the bulk of our resources and finances go to projects that will bring about generational change. Generational change can be defined as a clear end game for the individual or situation.
We need to look for transformation in each situation that we go into, understanding that auditable goals will be different for each situation. Never the less, permanent change is our goal.
It is our desire to regularly 'walk the land' - to physically have representation visit each of our partners and projects, to ask the questions that need to be asked, and then to help find and fund the solutions that will enable these endeavors to go to the next level.
