Welcome to The Centurion Project!

Boy Through The Window

The Centurion Project is the initiative of a group of like-minded friends who believe that doing something about poverty is worthwhile.

What is Poverty?

Poverty is being hungry. Poverty is having no shelter. Poverty is being sick and not having access or resources to get to a doctor. Poverty is not having access to school or not being able to learn how to read. Poverty is about a lack of employment opportunities. Poverty is having no hope that things will be different in the future. Poverty is losing a child to an illness brought on by unclean water or a sickness that in other countries would be easily treated with simple medications. Poverty is having a sense of powerlessness. Poverty is bondage. Mostly poverty is a situation that people want to escape from.

At THE CENTURION PROJECT we see poverty as a call to action. A call to change the world. A call to start a movement. A call to break cycles of poverty so that many more will have enough to eat, shelter, access to education, safety from oppression and violence and a voice that can be heard.

We believe there is a way to bring sustainable change to many of the situations that we see around us:
1. Strategic Partnerships: We believe in a culture of participation. Every person and every gift is of equal importance to us.
2. Auditable Change: It is our desire to bring change, not just simply comfort, to do our best to break cycles of poverty.
3. Bottom-Up Solutions: We freely admit that we do not fully understand all the facets of the situations we go into. It is simply our desire to partner with those who already have a track record of success and to help them in any way we can.
